Why Do We Put Our Trust In The Things Of This World?

this world is not my home

Why is it that it is so easy to put our trust in the things of this world, but yet so difficult to put our trust in God? Is it because we can ‘see’ before us the things of this world, but yet cannot physically see God? Day after day, we are faced with problems and circumstances beyond our control; we struggle, but yet we continue to trust in this world.

In John 14:27John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

, Jesus said “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Jesus left His peace with us. We do not receive that form of peace from the world, and anything we do receive from this world is temporary. The peace we seek in our lives can only come from God and no other. When we face our daily struggles, we must not allow them to become the focus of our day. We must keep our eye on Jesus and His saving grace. If we have to say “Jesus, please help me!” a thousand times a day, He will hear us and will be there. He knows our every weakness and will draw us near to Him at every account, if we call on Him and depend on Him to deliver us from our struggles.

1 John 5:141 John 5:14

So today, and every day, as we face our daily struggles of life, do not rely on your own understanding [Proverbs 3:5-6Proverbs 3:5-6
