Are You Drawing On The Strength Of God?

strength in God

When you find yourself thinking that you are beaten, are you drawing on the strength of God?

Try to imagine the strength that Jesus needed to go to the cross to die for our sins.  Can our brains even begin to comprehend that situation?  If we knew that we were marching into a city, or town, that we would be taken into custody and led to our death, how would we react?  On top of that, add on being repeatedly beaten, mocked, ridiculed, and having to carry the very cross that He would be hung on.  Even Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became weak in the flesh as His journey got closer to completion.

Jesus was in deep suffering, but He drew on the strength of God.

We can also see the strength of God present when Jesus was in the wilderness for forty days and forty nights to be tempted.

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

His body was in a weakened state after fasting for that length of time, but through His spiritual strength, He was able to conquer Satan.  The strength that God makes available to us is the same strength that Jesus drew on during His walk on earth.

Imagine how Satan shrieks when we reach our arms out to the LORD and ask for His strength; when we draw on the many promises of strength that are in the Bible.

strength in God

God has blessed each and every one of us with His strength.  All we have to do is draw on it!  But, do we?  Are we cognizant of this strength that is available to us 24/7?  When we become aware of this blessing, do we make it a habit to draw on the strength of God?

Just because we are children of God, that doesn’t mean our life is a bed of roses.  We will have things go wrong in our lives just about every day.  When we put our faith in our LORD, and trust in His promises, we will find that there is no trial or tribulation that He will not provide the strength for us to overcome.

The word strength is mentioned in the KJV Bible 242 times; strengthen 32 times, and strengthened 39 times.

Philippians 4:13 – one that I always keep close to my heart. What great reminders that our true strength, indeed, our entire being relies on the strength and deliverance of the Lord. And, in our weakness, he is hard at work to perfect us.
    Blessings, Mary!

Don't be shy! We would love to hear from you!
