What Exactly is The 1,000 Years, or New Millennium, Anyhow?

Tribulation-Millennium

We hear much discussion, and sometimes argument, about the Rapture, Tribulation, and Heaven, or Eternity.  But, what exactly is the thousand years, or New Millennium,  we see referenced in Revelation, Chapter 20?  We hear very little about it.  When Christians speak of the end of Tribulation, it seems as though all followers of Jesus Christ go directly to heaven and spend eternity with God.  In the Bible though, there seems to be much activity that will be going on between the end of Tribulation and Eternity that many are not aware of (unless they are doing an in-depth study of Revelation), or are not speaking much about it.  Revelation is a very complex book in the Bible, and it is difficult to take just one aspect out of it for discussion without bringing in all of the other information, but for all practical purposes, this post will try to stay focused on what the millennium is, and what we should expect.

Revelation 20:6Revelation 20:6

Remember in Revelation 19:20Revelation 19:20
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

WP-Bible plugin

Satan is not cast into the lake of fire until Revelation 20:10Revelation 20:10

The scripture indicates that there will be a forty-five day period between the time the tribulation ends and the thousand year reign, or millennium begin.  For whatever reason this additional time and its purpose is not specifically addressed in the Bible , it doesn’t really matter.  There are many mysteries of the Bible, and I believe this to be one of them.
